Building artificial intelligence tools to transform antibiotic prescription and tackle antimicrobial resistance. Every day, healthcare professionals make difficult decisions that affect the lives of their patients. From selecting antibiotics, requesting invasive tests and interpreting vast data, critical choices are made in busy and pressured environments. With rising complexity in care, empathic, holistic and individualised care becomes ever more challenging. We build tools that support doctors’ decision-making in ways that work with the grain of doctor-patient consultations ensuring professionals are supported to make the best possible decision every time, where every patient receives the best possible care. We develop AI models to recognize patterns in large datasets, process that data and extract meaningful information which can be translated into integrated clinical recommendations. We use natural language processing to analyse healthcare data in the form of written text which allows us to unlock the wealth of information kept as unstructured data within electronic health records.
