SafelyYou evolved from the graduate work of our CEO, George Netscher. He lost his grandmother to Alzheimer’s, and his aunt now has it and requires constant care. Knowing that both her mother and sister developed symptoms in their mid-seventies, his mother feels certain she’ll follow the same path—which means she has about ten years before she begins to show signs, too.
After being accepted into MIT, Harvard, and Stanford, George chose UC Berkeley, whose Artificial Intelligence Lab is the top AI research group in the US. George selected this program because faculty there had family who were affected by Alzheimer’s, and they supported his dream of beginning a company if he could find a solution that really helped.
